Parag Agrawal, who once led Twitter before it was rebranded as X, has introduced his new company called Parallel Web Systems Inc.

His new project is designed to give artificial intelligence (AI) agents the ability to search the internet, gather data, and process it without direct human input.

The company’s debut product, Deep Research API, is at the center of this strategy. In an August 15 LinkedIn post, Agrawal explained that the tool performs better than people and even some of the strongest AI systems, such as OpenAI’s GPT-5, on selected research tasks.

He added that Parallel is already handling millions of automated research jobs every day. One publicly listed business is using the platform to streamline parts of its operations, while developers are relying on it to scan documentation and debug code.

Funding for the startup has already been secured. According to a report by Bloomberg, Parallel raised $30 million and currently employs around 25 people.

After leaving Twitter in 2022, Agrawal began reviewing academic research, writing code, and rejecting several offers from companies that wanted him to lead turnarounds.

Speaking to Bloomberg, he suggested that users will soon deploy dozens of these agents to act on their behalf online. He predicted that this shift could begin as early as next year.

Meanwhile, Divine Research recently issued around 30,000 crypto loans under $1,000 using Sam Altman’s World ID system. What did the company say? Read the full story.
