Lextech, a specialist in mortgage origination, loan processing technology and legal services, has announced ISO 27001 re-certification for its national mortgage settlement platform. The certification is the global standard for information security management systems and represents a milestone for the provider’s commitment to security across Australia’s mortgage and property ecosystem.

The certification reflects Lextech’s strong and consistent approach to managing data, risk, and compliance across its national loan processing platform, which supports more than one-third of Australian lenders and facilities billions of dollars of property transactions per year.

Lextech CEO Peter Maloney (pictured) said security underpins the organisation, trusted by over one-third of Australian lenders and millions of everyday borrowers to securely complete their property transactions.

“ISO 27001 accreditation is just one element of Lextech’s broader secure by design strategy,” Maloney said.

“The platform has been purpose built to protect sensitive transactions at every stage, with features including multi-factor authentication (MFA), encrypted communications, secure mortgage document sharing, digital signing, and real-time identity verification services.”

“Security is built into every layer of our platform and we’re not just meeting the standard, we’re actively enabling secure interactions between lenders, brokers, borrowers and legal professionals.”

Lextech prioritises data sovereignty and local control, with all customer data securely stored in Australia, governed by Australian law, and supported entirely by Australian-based legal, technology and operational teams.

“Australian lenders rely on Lextech’s platform and legal services to process and settle billions of dollars of customers property transactions each year and this is a responsibility we take very seriously,” Maloney added.

“Australia’s regulatory environment demands strict measures for the financial services and real estate sectors, and Lextech’s ISO 27001 certification demonstrates its role as a trusted, secure partner to banks, brokers, legal professionals and integrated technology partners.”

The certification was awarded following a rigorous external audit and confirms Lextech’s ongoing compliance with ISO 27001 requirements.
