I recently switched jobs. My old job I had a 401k managed through Fidelity. I had planned on converting it to an IRA and moving it to the retirement provider for this new job so that I could keep everything organized. However, the new company also uses Fidelity so it’s still all within my one account. So do I need to convert it to an IRA if it’s staying with Fidelity? Is there a time limit to convert it to an IRA, or can I do that a few years down the line if I feel the need?
Other info that might be relevant, there’s about 100k in the account right now. The old 401k is traditional and the new job offers a Roth 401k which I’m taking advantage of.
