As part of its new lending platform, which will be launched in the coming months, AMP Bank is partnering with Fortiro to help transform the experience for brokers.

In a highly competitive lending market, where more than 75 per cent of home loans are now originated through brokers, speed, certainty and the customer experience are critical. By working with Fortiro, AMP Bank will accelerate income verification upfront, detect fraud earlier, and scale its lending decision-making process to drive growth.

“The work we are doing with Fortiro, around digitising and automating the application process, is key to delivering a fantastic experience for our brokers and ultimately for our customers,” said Sean O’Malley, Chief Executive Officer at AMP Bank.

Scaling lending efficiently

To stay competitive, lenders must process large volumes of broker-submitted documents such as payslips and tax returns quickly and accurately. Traditionally, that workload has relied on manual reviews, which can create delays due to limited capacity.

Fortiro enables AMP Bank to automate income verification and fraud checks across document-based loan applications. Internal teams can focus on more complex or higher-risk cases and keep up with growing demand.

“Broker applications can now be straight-through processed and automated,” said O’Malley. “That means AMP Bank can offer a faster turnaround and a significantly better experience across the board.”

Reducing operational friction

Manual document checks can slow down approvals and introduce inconsistency.  Fortiro helps automate and standardise income and fraud checks, integrates easily into existing workflows and requires minimal setup or maintenance.

“The ability to understand and interpret payslips and tax documents and simplify the lending journey was a key reason we chose Fortiro,” said O’Malley. “But we also needed to detect and eliminate fraud. That combination was really important.”
