Hello friends
My partner and I are in a situation and wanted to ask about some possible solutions.
Really long story short my partner had to leave his job due to safety concerns. While we solve that, we are not having him pursue other jobs.
At the moment, my income can get us through to end of May.
I have 930 + 250 dollar monthly payments towards student loans, the 930 i may be able to change next Friday when i have a day off to call the student loan company and look at what options there are.
Credit card wise, I have ~350 + ~275 + ~100 + ~50 + ~50 + ~50 + My partners card that needs at least 200 for a payment for them to even let him make a payment as we have been unable to make a few payments on his card. In total we have about 25k in CC debt spread across all of the cards. Likely slightly less but I rounded up.
I was wondering if there was any way to consolidate these payments. Between the interest and payments it is taking a lot of monthly income that if consolidated, would be much more manageable I think. Due to emergencies in the past both of our credits are poor <625.
I know of personal loans, consolidation?, and like calling them for hardship. But we don’t have spare cash so negotiating to pay a portion off likely isn’t an option. I also would prefer to not close the cards if at all possible to preserve any chance of retaining them until an emergency fun occurs.
The cards are locked and will not be used from roughly a month ago onwards, but i don’t want them to be closed either. If absolute worst i want to keep the two highest limit cards open and would be relatively fine with closing the 3 smallest, my partner accepts his likely will be closed once payed off.
Any solutions would be acceptable. I’m already going to be asking my boss for any reccomendations they have and other possible part time job solutions as we wait out his meetings for his job he just left. Once his shenanigans are sorted out, he will likely start working in some way ASAP but we don’t know how long the whole process will take.
