Deutsche Bank has launched card acquiring services for Bolt, one of Europe’s major mobility platforms, across both the European Union and the UK.

The service is supported by Silverflow’s cloud-based payment infrastructure, following a strategic partnership announced between Deutsche Bank and Silverflow in June.

Under this arrangement, Deutsche Bank serves as the card acquirer, offering the regulatory framework required to process card transactions through Visa and Mastercard.

Bolt uses Deutsche Bank’s membership with the card schemes to route payments through Silverflow.

The schemes settle funds with Deutsche Bank, which then handles payouts to Bolt.

Kilian Thalhammer

“This partnership marks another milestone in our strategy to deliver modern, scalable, and regulatory-resilient payment solutions for platform businesses across Europe,”

said Kilian Thalhammer, Head of Merchant Solutions at Deutsche Bank.

The collaboration with Bolt is part of Deutsche Bank’s broader efforts to expand its role in the European payments sector.

It also aligns with the bank’s recent partnership with Silverflow, aimed at modernising card processing and enabling new acquiring models.

Jüri Laur, Director of Product, Commerce at Bolt, commented:

“Working with Deutsche Bank and Silverflow has allowed us to significantly streamline our payment operations across Europe and the UK. We now benefit from a stable, scalable infrastructure that aligns perfectly with our growth ambitions, and delivers a smoother payment experience for our customers.”

The card acquiring solution has been operational since April 2025, fully integrated with Visa and Mastercard’s scheme infrastructure.

It reflects a wider trend towards cloud-based payment systems that balance regulatory compliance with operational efficiency for digital platforms in Europe.
