Lombok, Indonesia – [June 2025] – Australian entrepreneurs Jamie McIntyre and Adrian Campbell have launched Marina Bay City, a privately funded $6 billion smart city rising on the southern coast of Lombok, Indonesia. Dubbed “Dubai meets Bali,” the development merges luxury living, sustainable design, and a freedom-first lifestyle for expats, digital nomads, and global investors.

Set across hundreds of hectares of oceanfront land, Marina Bay City will feature private villas, wellness centers, resorts, a private hospital, and digital workspaces. Located minutes from Lombok’s MotoGP circuit and international airport, the city is designed to be a world-class destination for those seeking a better quality of life outside traditional systems.

“People are looking for more freedom, more affordability, and more opportunity,” said McIntyre. “We’re building that, without waiting for government approval.”

A New Model for Smart Living

Backed by private equity and early land acquisitions, the project is valued at over $6 billion. It reflects a new wave of master-planned developments driven by private vision rather than public planning. McIntyre and Campbell aim to attract those leaving behind high-cost, high-surveillance environments for more grounded, opportunity-rich living.

Early phases include villa sales and commercial hubs. The developers also plan to explore tokenized property, eco-construction, and digital residency programs.

“This is more than property,” Campbell added. “It’s a fresh start for people ready to live and invest on their terms.”

Why Lombok?

Often seen as Bali’s quieter sister, Lombok is emerging fast, thanks to major infrastructure investment and government support. Its international airport, natural beauty, and lower development costs make it an ideal setting for long-term, sustainable growth.

Now Underway

Construction has begun, with demand from early investors already on the rise. With its mix of lifestyle, security, and investment upside, Marina Bay City is shaping up to be one of Southeast Asia’s most ambitious private cities.
