British startup Flock Mobility raises €1.1 million to drive expansion and reinvent how organisations move people

Flock Mobility, a London-based CleanTech startup innovating how organisations run shared transport, has secured €1.1 million in funding to fuel its next phase of growth and add more NHS partners, local authorities, and enterprise clients, including business parks and residential communities.

The round includes backing from Skyscanner founder Gareth Williams and a Boston-based family office, as well as continued support from the European Space Agency.

“This investment is a major vote of confidence in what we’re building,” said Terry Yoell, Co-founder and CEO. “We’ve already proven the model with the NHS and Berkeley Group. Now we’re scaling fast into new sectors and new regions.”

Founded in 2020, Flock Mobility is a UK-based B2B CleanTech. Its AI-driven EV fleet platform helps organisations run cleaner, more efficient shared transport services by optimising vehicle utilisation, routing, and booking.

Flock looks to empower operators and partners to reduce emissions, cut costs, and increase access through smart, demand-responsive mobility. With demand increasing across both private and public markets, the funding will support Flock’s expansion into new verticals and accelerate product development.

Unlike traditional shuttle providers or mobility platforms focused on single-use cases, Flock’s platform matches EV supply to real-time user demand, supporting everything from scheduled shuttles and demand-responsive shared rides to self-drive options.

The platform’s modular approach offers a shuttle, drive, solo drive, and shared drive options independently, or users can choose to combine the various ride types to allow each fleet vehicle to be used for multiple purposes throughout the day.

The software can integrate with existing transport offering or alternatively provide a turn key solution. Offerings include, professional drivers, electric vehicles, commercial insurance policies, licensing and charging infrastructure.

Flock has implemented innovative transport solutions in two distinct settings. At Trent Park, a private residential estate, Flock introduced a dynamic timetabled shuttle service, increasing journey availability by 1.5x at no extra cost, while saving 400 kg of CO₂ and 1,100 miles per vehicle monthly. A solo ride feature using existing drivers and self-driving vehicles is planned. Meanwhile, at the NHS Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Trust, Flock’s self-drive service for community workers and patient transport proved 30% more efficient than the previous solution, cutting 1,000 kg of CO₂ emissions per month per vehicle and achieving 70% vehicle utilisation. Planned expansions include integrating emergency medicine delivery and optimising transport for other departments.

Flock has appointed two new senior leaders to support this growth: Samuel Ellis joins as Head of Growth, and Rob Larmour as Head of Operations. The company is also hiring across product, data, and operations, focusing on expanding its optimisation engine and AI capabilities.
